This interactive Disney100 activation on TikTok is a fan's dream come true

In honour of The Walt Disney Company's 100-year anniversary, TikTok and Disney have partnered on an interactive Disney100 activation on the social media company’s platform. The activation will feature content from Disney, Disney Parks, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars to name a few.

On TikTok, users will have access to a Disney100 content hub page where fans will be able to watch videos from Disney's brands, play daily Disney trivia and create their own videos with Disney music and effects.

Fans will also collect and trade character cards of their favourite characters to win unique profile frames on the platform. Character cards can be collected when fans perform certain tasks as they explore the activation page such as watching videos.

"The Walt Disney Company has an incredible legacy of bringing joy and excitement to a global community through its iconic films and TV series, heartwarming characters, thrilling parks and memorable brands," said Nicole Lacopetti, global head of content, TikTok.

“We're thrilled to partner with Disney to celebrate the company's undeniable impact on entertainment and on families around the world, starting by giving TikTok's passionate community of Disney fans unique access to content and experiences they can't find anywhere else,” she added.

The four-week activation will be live in 24 regions around the globe and includes more than 48 participating Disney handles on TikTok. TikTok will also curate a Disney100 playlist that features popular hits from the Disney catalogue such as songs from The Lion King and High School Musical.

"With over 240 billion views across Disney's portfolio of brands and experiences, TikTok has become an increasingly popular destination for Disney fans to create, engage and connect around their favourite Disney films, shows, characters and experiences, so we're thrilled to partner with them as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the company,” said Asad Ayaz, chief brand officer of The Walt Disney Company.

As part of its ‘Create 100’ campaign, a global celebration of creativity marketing 100 years of Disney storytelling, Disney is also featuring Malaysian visual artist Red Hong Yi. Additionally, Red has enlisted next-generation bead artist Danielle Soong to join the celebration. She will also produce a piece to mark the occasion.

The Create 100 contributions feature everything from musical elements to comic books to recreations of iconic movie props and more from renowned talent such as Beyoncé, famed French fashion designer Christian Louboutin, Italian global creative director for Swarovski, Giovanna Engelbert, Chinese virtuoso pianist Lang Lang, American fashion pioneer Tommy Hilfiger and celebrated Brazilian artist Vik Muniz.
